4th August 2026 - Audioform v5: new mixing and loudness presets
We have released Audioform v5, with a more intuitive way to control how audio is mixed and mastered.
Generally we now automatically handle the best mixing and loudness presets for you. Try using the automatic suggestion by omitting them in Audioform. Contact support to get advice on the best presets to use.
New Mixing Presets:
The new mixingPreset names: neutral, speechDominant, musicDominant, dynamic, compressed, noProcessing replace the older preset names. mixingPreset can also be omitted and we will recommend the most appropriate one based on your content (e.g. voice-only productions are mapped to a low-processing chain to avoid over-processing).
New Loudness Presetsbroadcast, digitalPlatform, longFormContent . Each preset targets a specific integrated loudness and true peak for its intended platform. loudnessPreset is never auto-recommended (it depends on where you're publishing, not on the content itself). If omitted, it defaults to digitalPlatform, as this is a good loudness level compromise across all platforms.
Our outputs now reliably hit tighter loudness targets (such as broadcast) instead of occasionally falling short. Source audio with peaks near full scale receives a transparent adjustment before final mastering so that the requested target is reached consistently.
- Brief and Story endpoints: legacy mixing and loudness preset names (balanced, voiceenhanced, radio, spotify, etc.) are still fully accepted and are automatically translated to their v5 equivalents. No action needed.
- Direct Audioform API (v4 and earlier): legacy loudness presets are still fully honoured and automatically translated. ⚠️ Legacy mixing presets, however, are not guaranteed to be preserved. To be able to lock this functionality, migrate to Audioform v5 and use the new preset names.
